The CV100KM device is used for the prevention of computer lock up or shutdown because of keyboard signal loss. It is designed for use with KVM switches that do not have PS2 emulation features. With these types of switches, they require an emulator so the peripherals can be hot pluggable and allows the computer to be booted and run without keyboard and mouse.
