16 Port CAT5 KVM Switch

Atens KH1516 is a 16 port KVM Switch that allows users to connect up to 16 computers directly. Through daisy chaining 31 additional KVM Switches can be connected to control as many as 512 computers from one console.

On the KVM input side the KH1516 CAT5 KVM switch uses RJ45 cables, and to extend to servers and other KVMs, simple CAT5 cables can be connected to an adapter (for the servers). A variety of adapters are available to suit all sorts of servers and computers. Adapter types include: PS2, USB (PC and Mac), Sun USB, Legacy Sun and Serial devices. No additional software is required on the computers because the adapters provide a source of interpretation and routing of keyboard and mouse signals to suit the specific application. The KH1516 can work with nearly any operating system or server environment due to it's broad span of connectivity options.

Video resolutions of 1280 x1024@ 60Hz and up to 130 feet (40 meters) are provided by ASC (Auto Signal Compensation). Resolution of 1600 x 1200@ 60Hz goes up to 100 feet (30 meters).

Port selection is accomplished:

• By manually depressing a switch
• With Hot Keys
• With an OSD (On Screen Display) by which each server can be individually recognized.

There is no need for the use of identifier dip switches on daisy chained KVMs because of an auto sensing feature installed on the KH1516 unit. An LED light will automatically indicate which unit is selected.
