video switches
A Video Switch or Video Matrix Switch is a device that is used to consolidate multiple video players. Video switches all users to connect several different video units to a single switch and display them all on one display. They're extremely useful when a video output does not have enough input ports to support every device that you need to use. The KVM Equipment video switch selection ranges in many different formats. We have composite and component video switches for devices that have YPbPr and RCA/BNC connectors. We also cary digital visual interface or DVI video switches and VGA video switches. The newest addition to our selection is the HDMI Video Switch. This device routes video signals from HDMI players to one high definition display. The CAT5 video switch units contain a very high bandwidth routing matrix for the Red, Green and Blue video channels and separate switching layers for Horizontal and Vertical Syncs. All the combined signals are driven through standard RJ45s (video over cat5) on the front panel. For VGA switches over CAT5 standard VGA receiver units are used at the end on each CAT5 cable to recover the signals. High quality receiver circuits incorporating cable loss compensation provide excellent results up to resolutions of 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz. Compatible with all types of UTP and STP cables, the receivers can have optional internal skew compensations fitted, which solves the problem of delay errors found in the higher specification structured cabling.
Video switches are often referred to as Video Matrix Switches or Matrix Video Switch. The video matrix switch is slightly different from a video switch because it incorporates multiple outputs. For example, a VGA video matrix switch can consist of four VGA inputs from different devices, with, 4, 8, or 16 outputs to VGA displays! This gives the user a lot more flexibility in distributing the signals. Matrix Video Switches are excellent for use in digital signage. We have video switches ranging from 2 port, 4 port, 8 port, 16 port, and 32 ports. Video Matrix Switches can have the same amount of outputs, however inputs range from 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 inputs!
